Who these terms are with

This website is operated by Mapuche BJJ Academy Pty Ltd (ABN 56 685 652 911) of 8/9 Hare Place, Rouse Hill NSW 2155. "We" and "us" mean the academy. "You" means anyone using this site.

By using this site, you agree to these terms.

What this website is

This site exists to tell you about the academy, what we teach, when we teach it and how to reach us. We try to keep it accurate and current, but timetables change, classes get moved and details go out of date. Confirm anything you are relying on by calling us or asking at the academy.

Nothing on this site is medical, fitness or legal advice.

Enquiries and trial classes

Sending an enquiry does not book you into a class. We will get back to you to arrange a time. A free trial is offered at our discretion and is subject to space in the class and to the class being suitable for you.

Please give us accurate information when you enquire, particularly about age and anything that affects how you can train safely.

Training involves physical risk

Brazilian jiu jitsu is a contact sport. It involves close physical contact, grappling and controlled force applied by and to another person. Injury is possible even when everything is done properly.

We take safety seriously. We coach technique before intensity, we supervise, and we ask senior students to look after newer ones. We cannot make the activity risk-free, and we will not pretend that we can.

Before you train, you should satisfy yourself that you are well enough to do so, and speak to a doctor if you are unsure. Tell us about injuries, medical conditions or anything else that affects your training, and tell us if that changes.

Anything you sign when you join, including any waiver or assumption of risk, sits alongside these terms and governs your actual training.

Membership and fees

Membership terms, fees, payment and cancellation are set out in the agreement you enter into with the academy when you join, not on this website. Where this page and that agreement differ, that agreement wins.

Children

Children train in the classes set out for their age group. A parent or guardian is responsible for enrolling a child, for getting them to and from the academy, and for telling us anything relevant to their safety.

We are responsible for the child during the class they are enrolled in. We are not providing childcare before or after it.

Behaviour on the mat

Respect comes before technique here. We expect students to follow coaching instructions, train within their partner's limits, observe hygiene standards, and treat everyone in the room decently.

We may ask anyone to stop training or to leave if their behaviour puts another person at risk or makes the academy a worse place to be. That applies regardless of belt, and it applies to parents watching as much as to students on the mat.

Our content

The text, photographs, design and the academy's name and badge on this site belong to us or are used with permission. You are welcome to link to the site and to share pages. Please do not copy the content or use the badge for anything else without asking.

Some content on this site, such as map data, may be provided by third parties and used under their own licences. Where that is the case, the relevant credit appears alongside the content itself.

Links to other sites

We link to places like our Instagram, our Facebook page and Google Maps. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what is on them.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded, and nothing on this page attempts to do so.

Beyond those rights, and to the extent the law permits: we provide this website as it is, we do not guarantee it will always be available or free of errors, and we are not liable for loss arising from relying on information here that you could have confirmed with us.

Changing these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
