Who we are

A family academy

Mapuche BJJ Academy is dedicated to providing high-quality Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in a supportive and empowering environment where students can learn and grow.

The name on the door

The badge is a kultrún, the Mapuche ceremonial drum. Its four quarters hold the moon, the suns and the star, ringed by the stepped cross that runs along the border of the Mapuche flag hanging in our academy.

The academy carries our family's heritage in its name rather than a franchise badge. That is a deliberate choice, and it sets the standard we hold students to.

It is also why respect comes before technique here, and why you will often find two generations of the same family training in the same room.

Values we embrace

Respect & self-discipline

How students treat each other on the mat matters more to us than how fast they win. It carries into school, work and home.

Focus & confidence

Jiu jitsu rewards patience. Children who struggle to sit still learn to hold attention, and quiet ones find their voice.

Safety & leadership

Controlled training, clear coaching, and senior students who look after newer ones. Nobody gets thrown in the deep end.
